Animal Farm 8

Entry of your choice.

I have a similar story as animal story book. It is also about the leader of a society. Before I came to TCIS, I was in other school. In my class, we had a class president. At first, all of our classmate thought that he was a very sincere and honest person. In the starting of our grade, he did very good job for his class president. He had a great leadership. He also was popular from the students. He led us when our class had cleaning time. He led us when we had soccer practice. He was good at everything. Everything seemd fine in first place when he really did his job well. As the time goes, I think he became lazy. He didn't do much work or practices. He didn't clean well in cleaning time; he just commanded us to do it. He didn't show to soccer practice often. And at the end of the year, even though he did poor job on the class president, he recieved an award from teachers. He did his job well only in front of the teachers, but when teachers were not with him, he did poorly. I think he same guy as Napoleon. He wants to be comfortable, not thinking about others.

Are there any settings in this novel which you have found to be beautiful? Or disturbing? Or memorable? Describe these settings and comment on why they were meaningful to you.

The most memorable setting that I have found in this book was building windmill. How can animals build a windmill by their own? Whenever the book mentioned about the windmill when I read it, I imagined the windmill in my head. Even though the book didn't tell me about the description, I think it would be really small for them. It would made out of bricks and woods. I don't know if this windmill helped the animals on working a lot, but it is very cool for animals to make a windmill. This part was very meanigful to me because I love building things. I like playing with legos or make something with my toys. There were few times when the windmill got broken and the animals had to rebuilt. I felt really sorry for the animals. There are few comments about this setting, windmill. It was kind of childish for animals to make a windmill. But by showing the windmill in this story, it tells us that pigs finally got in the control of ruling the animals.

Please choose one passage from the novel that is significant to you. Why is this passage meaningful? Please type it into one of your entries and comment on what you think about the passage.

There were a lot of significant passages from the novel for me. I think every scene sthat I read were all significant. To pick one passage, it was very difficult. The passage that is most significant to me is at the last part. The part when pigs stand up and act like human. Squalor was standing behind his hind legs and walking around. More than that, the pigs played card game with farmer in their house. It was very scary and shocking to me. Behind Squalor, there was Napoleon who was walking around carrying a whip. This passage was very meaningful to me because it kind of determines the conclusion of the story. It tells that pigs finally became the enemy, ruler. But I have some comments; positive comments and negative comments. Positive comment is that since this passage is very shocking, it gets in my mind and remains long. Negative comment is that it is a little childish for me. I laughed a little bit when I read that passage. I think choosing significant passages from a novel is very important. It helps you remember about that book longer. Next time, when I read a book, I will always remember to choose a significant or important passges.

What is the mood of this novel? Do you find this novel saddens you in any way? why?

The mood of a book is very important to know. The mood of this novel is very various. There is not a specific mood in the novel. At the beginnig of this book, I thought this novel would have a happy mood. I thought the animal farm family get freedom from human and have a piece in the farm happily ever after. But my prediction was very wrong. They did get freedom from human, but only pigs became the ruler and enjoy the freedom they found. The other animals had more painful life from the pigs. If I was the other animal, I would make another rebellion against pigs and find another freedom from them and live happily ever after. I find sadness in this novel. It has sad ending. If you want to read books with delight mood and happy ending, you better throw this book away and find another book. I am kind of a person who doesn't feel well after finishing reading sad ending story book. I felt sick after reading this book. I felt something missing. In somehow, this book has creul mood. There are a lot of scenes in this book that has cruel and violent feelings. Anyway, all of the mood in this book is negative. Next time, when I read book, I will pick books with happy ending and delight mood.

Animal Farm 4

What is the climax of this novel? What happens? How do the events of this novel make you feel?

Climax can be different to everyone. There are few options in this novel that can be the climax. I think climax of this novel is when the pigs, the evil and cruel ruler, get to walk around. Further more, Napoleon whips the horses. The rule that they have made changed: Four legs good, two legs better form two legs bad, four legs good. This part was really shocking to me. It seems kind of funny but, it is very scary. At first, pigs were the one who blamed human and cursed them. But at the end of this novel, pigs act exactly the same as human. They allied with humans and treat other animals as slaves. The most shocking part was when pigs were playing cards with humans and other animals were looking them through windows. Pigs are betrayer. It makes me feel a little angry to the pigs but in the other hand, I feel very sad for the other animals who work everyday to get their own foods and live.

Animal Farm 3

Who are the main characters in the novel? Do you like them? Why or why not? What is special about them? What do they reveal about the universal human experience?

In the book "Animal Farm", there are a lot of main characters. I will tell you the most important characters that are shown in the book. First, there is Napoleon and Snowball who are both pigs. They were rivals and competed with each other to rule over the animal farm. I hate both of them who were selfish and greedy to be ruler. I hate Napoleon more since he kicked snowball out of them so that he can rule over by himself. The farmer of this animal farm is Mr. Jones, who was once, their biggest enemy. I think he’s very lazy. He didn’t give a lot of care to the animals. The animals that played very important role on working were horses. Clover and Boxer were horse who worked very hard on making a windmill. I really like them but I think they are very stupid. There is a horse who is very prideless named Mollie. She doesn’t like freedom but wants to be cared by farmers. There is also a pig named, Squealer. He works under Napoleon. When something bad happens in the animal farm by Napoleon, Squealer explains to the animal not to worry. He is also the one who changes the rule for Napoleon, the ruler. To the human world, Napoleon is a bad ruler, and dogs are generals, and the rest of the animals are citizens.

Animal Farm 2

Are there are any current situations in the world that relate to the novel? What are they, and how do they relate? Does the novel shed any light on how current situations could be resolved or "fixed"?

I think this novel's situation is more about politics. In history, many countries had dictatorship system or communism system. Like in this book, Napoleon had those government systems and became a cruel evil ruler. In my country, Korea, Jung-Hee Park ruled over South Korea with dictatorial government. He ruled us without mentioning any of citizen's opinion which was really bad. In Germany, there was a guy named Hitler who was an evil ruler like Napoleon in the book. He was also dictatorial ruler who killed many Jewish and sinless people just by his own will. In the book, at first Napoleon made the rules that human is always animals enemy because at that time, they were cruelty to animals. But as time goes, animal makes rebellion, when Napoleon became no more scared of humans, he changed the rules without listening to other animals’ opinion. In these days, there are not many situations like this in the book. But long time ago, there were a lot of cruel rulers ruling country however he likes. I think this is not only related to politic. It also relates to small societies. For example, if I am a leader of soccer team, I should make decisions with all the members in a meeting. I should not kick out any people by my own will.
